This site is set up like a small magazine. It has a cover, a table of contents, essays, and a letter at the end. The layout borrows from print because print is still the best model for reading.

AMDG

The letters in the domain stand for Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam, “for the greater glory of God”. It is the motto of the Society of Jesus. Students at Jesuit schools have long written it at the top of their work. It is a reminder that study is not only for its own sake.

How it is built

The site uses Astro and plain CSS, and it is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Headlines are set in Instrument Serif and text in Inter Tight. There are no trackers beyond privacy-respecting analytics. You can subscribe to hear when something new is published.
